Class Policies for the AY2022 Spring Semester

Kwansei Gakuin University will generally conduct Academic Year 2022 (AY2022) classes in person, while implementing standard measures to prevent COVID-19 infections. In principle, students will not be allowed to take in-person classes online, except for international students who are unable to enter the country. However, for certain courses where it has been recognized that the online format is more effective for education, classes will be held online at the discretion of the department offering the course.

We hope that the spread of COVID-19 will be curbed through measures such as progress with vaccinations, as well as the development and widespread use of new therapeutic drugs. However, we must remain vigilant in the current situation, and so as a university, we will continue implementing basic measures for preventing infections, such as requiring masks for all AY2022 activities, ensuring adequate ventilation, providing hand sanitizer, and avoiding the three Cs (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings). It is our hope that all students will be able to lead fulfilling campus lives through on-campus learning and interactions with many people.

Note that we may be required to revise this policy in the future due to the COVID-19 situation or changes to national and local government guidelines.
