Prof. Takuji Hatakeyama Elected as Recipient of the 18th Japan Academy Medal

Professor Takuji Hatakeyama of the Graduate School of Science and Technology was elected as one of six recipients of the 18th Japan Academy Medal at the 1155th General Meeting of the Japan Academy, held on January 12th, 2022. He received the award for his research entitled "Development of Next-generation Organic Electroluminescence Materials."

The purpose of the Japan Academy Medal prize, instituted in 2004, is to give formal recognition to outstanding young researchers, while encouraging them in their future work. Awardees are selected from among the annual recipients of the JSPS Prize administered by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. In February 2020, the sixteenth award ceremony for the Japan Academy Medal and JSPS Prize was held in the presence of their Imperial Highnesses the Crown Prince and Crown Princess Akishino. The seventeenth award ceremony was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
